Grout Cleaning Deserves Something Special

Whenever I clean my house, the grout in between the tiles serves as a reminder that there are always thing that need to be done, and inevitable some things I always neglect in favor of other things that demand my attention. It’s a natural thing for me, as I’m not much for cleaning. I dislike cleaning my house, as I am no cleaning maid.

But yes, I do clean my house once in a while. It’s the cheaper option in this tight economy. I steel myself to dust, sweep and mop up stains and dust and grime every weekend. This is something I willingly do, as it’s mostly easy, and not at all that tedious, anyway. I don’t have a very large house, in any case.

I can very well do most of the cleaning jobs in my house, but the one task that really tests my resolve to clean is the grout in between the bathroom tiles in my home. I mean, look at it; it’s a small narrow space in between the tiles and it’s difficult to clean. I have a simple, classic tile design, which is easy enough to maintain, but the grout seems to resist all my scrubbing and cleaning implements. And I’m never satisfied with the result.

And I have a dog, Rover, so you see how much more of a chore it is for me. There are those rare times wherein Rover accidentally pisses or poops on the premises, he leaves a part of the tiles stained a nasty color. No amount of scrubbing can remove all of it. I’m not paid enough, or my time is not worth all this effort in cleaning the grout.

So I compromise. I decided that while I will still clean the home every weekend as I normally do, I will opt to not touch the grout in the bathrooms and kitchen. I will, instead, just call in professional grout cleaners to come and do the job for me. I’ll only be doing this once in a while, mind. This way, I’ll still save on my cleaning bills, while not using up too much of my own time. I have better things to do, thank you very much.
