One of the best ways to use your kids bedroom space is by using Bunk Beds instead of using the regular bed. Kids and parents also love them very much, as it allows them to have fun and 2 kids can be managed in one single bedroom. Bunk beds are few of the best things you can do for kids bedroom; there are some bunk bed safety matters. You should be conscious about one thing that kids can hurt themselves if it is used improperly or set up improperly. If it is set properly then you will have years of secure fun for your kids who will love their bunk beds, both for sleeping and playing.

When looking for childrens bedroom furniture bunk beds are the best choice. Kids love bunk beds, as they can have lot of fun by hanging a sheet from the top bunk and imagining it to be a house in which they can play. For parents also bunks have many advantages to offer, like they provide multiple options for best use of space in kids bedrooms. Bunks take less space than 2 single beds, kids will be very happy if you allow both your kids to sleep in bunk beds. Rather than making your kids sleep in a bedroom with less room space because of the 2 beds.

Few things have to be considered about bunk beds. For instance, make sure that the top bunk has a railing right around the top. Ideally it should have a railing around the entire top of the bunk; however it is essential to at the least have a railing around the open sides. If there are to be 3 open sides then you need a railing around 3.The railing should be fixed and not removable. It’s possible if a railing can be removed that kids can remove it, and if they do then they can fall off. It should be solid and fixed. There should be no gap wider than about 3 inches between the top of the mattress and the bottom of the railing, because it has been known for kids to fall through the gap between the bottom of the railing and the mattress. So make sure there is very little gap.

Top of the railing should be at least 10 inches high above the top of the mattress. If you prefer railing which is 2 to 3 inches high then its not enough and will not work well for your kids. Go for double railings which are great. Other thing which has to be considered is the size of the mattress; make sure it fits the bed correctly. There should be no gaps for kids to fall through. Never get a bed which has corner post that can stick on its own. It is possible for kids to catch clothing on anything that sticks up and falls off, hanging from the post.

While shopping for bunk bed never go for those bunks which have loose slats for the mattress to sit on for the top bunk bed. One can also find bunk beds which can be easily separated and put together to have loose slats that are set in place for the mattress to relax on. On the other side if there is a child underneath who pushes and moves the slats then it may so happen that the mattress and the above bed falls on the child. So its better you do online search about bunk bed safety before buying one for your kids. In this way, you and your kids will love to have bunk beds like twin over full bunk beds at home.
